So first of all you need to figure out what your vibe is going to be. Do you want mountain views? DO you want an epic waterfall? Do you want to elope by a lake? Or in the woods? Pick your place! (And hit me up for my favorite secret spots!) OR if you’re feeling adventurous (Like Natalie and Aleksander were!) You can do it all!

Natalie and Alek started their day at sunrise, getting ready in a cute cabin, nestled in the forest. They got ready in the dark, and then right when the sun rose, we headed outside to the woods for their first look. Cabins like this are located all over the base of Mt Hood and make the perfect getting ready location for your elopement here!

After their first look, Natalie and Alek hopped in their super cute car and we began to drive up the mountain! From their cabin to the top of the mountain was only about 30 minutes and we zoomed up it in no time! The sun was rising through the mist as we drove up the hill and made the whole day seem so much more magical!

We made it to the Timberline Ski resort and began to explore the snow-covered mountain. Natalie and Alek eloped in late April and so there was still tons of snow on the ground! We had amazing views of the surrounding mountains and we stayed and played in the snow until we began to freeze!

Next we headed back down the mountain to a beautiful overlook! Its a great idea to pick 2-4 places to hit on your elopement day, especially if you want a lot of variety in your surroundings throughout the day! Its also great to have backup plans in place. On this day, we planned to hit up Lake Trillium and Sahale Falls but because of the snowfall, we decided to skip it and instead go to timberline and the overlook before heading to the forest!

Next we headed to Mt Hood State Park for my couple’s ceremony. For their ceremony, they decided to invite their family to share in the moment. This was a great location for that because the forest is so accessible and it only takes a short walk before you feel like you are deep in the woods. In reality, we were just a short walk from the parking lot for their ceremony!

After the ceremony, we headed deeper into the woods and Alek and Natalie got to hang out and enjoy the trees and a moment alone after their emotional ceremony. The forest is such a great place to go on your elopement day. The woods are so peaceful and such a great place to reflect on the promises you just made to your partner! Mt Hood State Park has so many amazing trails that are perfect to explore on your wedding day!

After our hike in the woods, we headed back to another cabin on Mt Hood where their family had gathered to hang out after the ceremony. Alek and Natalie shared their first dance while his parents played their favorite song! So fricken cute! My heart melted.

I hope that you gathered that Mt Hood is the perfect place for your elopement! There are so many places to explore on the mountain and the possibilities are endless! Hit me up if you’re ready to plan your dream elopement on mt hood!
