You know your partner reallyyyy wants to marry you when they hike 8 miles just to do it! This North Cascades National Park elopement was one I’ll NEVER forget. Keep on readin’ to find out more about Maddie + Madi’s special day, and for info on how to get married in the park + where to stay!

Maddie + Madi’s North Cascades Elopement

I wish I could bring you along with me to re-witness this incredible day, but luckily we have some bomb photos to look at instead 😉 We started off the day with the sweetest first look under the trees where some tears were definitelyyyy shed (don’t look at me!).

Of course, we had to include their two pups in these photos, too – because if you’ve ever wondered if you should bring your pets to your elopement the answer is always YES!!

Heather-Maple Pass Loop

Like I said earlier, these two hiked 8 miles (the Heather-Maple Pass Loop) on their elopement day and so did their families!! It was appropriate for the two of them because Madi actually proposed on one of their hikes at Mount Rainier. So what other option did they have than a beautiful hike in the mountains to get to their ceremony spot??

Once they arrived at their spot, they changed back into their wedding outfits & made it official at the most stunning place possible, and Madi’s dad officiated. With a mountain peak in the background and their families watching them – what a damn dream.

Then, came the best part of the day – when they went on a private hike away from their loved ones to get some epic mountain wedding photos!

In short, this elopement was full of smiles, insane views, and wonderful people – I miss it already.

How to Get Married in North Cascades National Park

North Cascades Wedding Permit

In order to get married in the North Cascades NP you’ll need the appropriate Special Use Permit!

First, email the park office to get the application to fill out.

Once you’ve filled it out & completed it, send it back to the park and pay your $50 non-refundable application fee here.

Moreover, if you have any questions about these permits just email the office and they’ll get back to you with the details you need!

Hiking Permits

You’ll also need to get a Northwest Forest Pass if you’ll be hiking in any US. Forest Service trails.

Where to Stay Near the North Cascades

In short, if you decide to elope in the North Cascades National Park, you’ll need to find somewhere to stay! And there are TONS of gorgeous, cozy cabins nearby – you can easily find an amazing place in the mountains whether you’re staying for a night or a week.
