You have to see this awesome Mt Baker elopement at Bagely Lake for tons of Washington mountain elopement inspiration!
Robert and Rachel experienced an October miracle when the snow held out and we were able to still access our location DEEP into the autumn when usually there was 20 feet of snow there by this time! Their day was beautiful from the cutesy cabin they got ready at to their gorgeous golden hour ceremony to their first dance later than night. Such an amazing day and just a stunning elopement at Bagely Lake.
These two met while working at the same tech company! Rachel totally thought he was cute but because of the company dating policy, she kept her thoughts to herself. Robert ended up leaving the company and after a while Rachel reached out to him via facebook on a whim. They ended up hitting it off and that’s how it all started!
Robert proposed to Rachel in 2016. He planned a special day for them that ended with them going to a christmas tree farm to “pick out a tree”. After roaming the fields and finding “the one”, he got down on one knee and told her that he had found “the one” too and asked her to be his wife! Almost immediately after getting engaged though, Rachel’s dad was diagnosed with cancer and they had to put the wedding plans on hold to help him deal with his illness. After extending the timeline and replanning multiple times, they finally were able to plan their dream elopement. They just wanted stunning views, simplicity and a stress-free timeline, which Mt. Baker absolutely offers.
Robert and Rachel’s Bagely Lake Elopement at Mount Baker
Rachel and Robert’s elopement happened during a time where there was expected to be snow everywhere! We had a backup plan in place, but they were holding out hope that they would be able to elope at their number one location!
They didn’t get their hopes up but they sent out all of the non-snowy vibes as they flew out to Washington from their home state. There’s usually snow expected the third week of October but to our surprise, it was clear! Sunny even! No snow at all! We couldn’t believe it. It was an elopement-day miracle.
After getting ready at their cute log cabin cabin & doing a super sweet first look, Rachel and Robert held their ceremony in front of the picturesque lake in private. They had written their own vows earlier that day and they then read them to each other, both tearing up a little.
About Bagely Lake
Bagely Lake is one of my favorite spots in the Mount Baker Wilderness Area because of how easy it is to access! All you gotta do is follow a quick path around the lake and you’ll get amazing views of Table mountain + reflections of the landscape in the water on a clear day.
Their Mount Baker A-Frame Cabin
Rachel and Robert were smart and rented the cutest, Glacier Springs Cabin in Deming for their getting ready. They used the cabin to get ready in, have their first look at and their dinner later! plus all of their details were super gorgeous when I laid them out in the cute cabin!
This cabin is a great option for couples looking to elope at Bagely Lake or stay in Deming for their North Cascades elopement. It sleeps 6 guests so you can stay there by yourselves or invite 4 of your besties along, or host a few more guests there for an evening celebration in the woods. There are 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, and 2 bathrooms, along with a large deck for your ceremony or just to relax in the morning while sipping your tea before your elopement at Bagely Lake.
Adventuring couples will be excited about all of the opportunities nearby for mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing & snowboarding in the winter, and fishing! It’s such a cute cabin that’ll give you a comfy place to sleep + modern amenities to enjoy while still getting that rustic, woodsy feel of sleeping out in nature. This cabin is perfect for your elopement at Bagely Lake!
