Mayra + Russ’s Olympic National Park Adventure Elopement

Ready for a cute love story that sounds like it’s straight outta a Nicholas Sparks novel??

These two Oklahoma natives met on Tinder 5 years ago (okay, maybe a more modern Nicholas Sparks novel) and have been together ever since. He proposed in Norway after setting up a camera on self-timer mode – talk about a DREAM location to say hell yes to the love of your life?!

Their original plan was to elope in Italy, buttttt you guessed it: the pandemic came along. So they changed plans and adapted like pros, wanting somewhere that had mountains but also offered a rainforest feel. Cue: Olympic National Park 😉

They soon realized that ONP would be the PERFECT place where they could get it allll for their elopement. A first look in the mountains, ceremony in the forest, and portraits on the coast – these guys truly did it all & experienced all that Olympic National Park has to offer!!

Their Killer Elopement Outfits

If you couldn’t already tell these two absolutely killed their elopement attire. Mayra’s vintage dress with Russ’s custom-made, rust orange suit + gray tie was the most stylish combination ever – plus how amazing does the rust suit look against the greenery of the rainforest?!

And shoutout to Anne Timms for doing an amazing job with Mayra’s hair & makeup!

Hurricane Ridge Elopement Photos: The First Look

After gettin’ all dressed up individually, Mayra + Russ headed to Hurricane Ridge for their first look. We got lucky because it was sunny everywhereee and that doesn’t happen often up at these higher elevations!! Hurricane Ridge was the most perfect spot for their first look: mountains in the background, epic views everywhere you looked, all while they teared up seeing each other for the first time that day.

The Hoh Rainforest Elopement Ceremony

Once we’d all recovered from the teary mess that we were, we headed to the Hoh Rain Forest – pretty much the coolest rainforest in all of Washington state. From green moss and ferns everywhere to weirdly-shaped tree roots, the lush canopy this rainforest provides is unlike anything else. And somehow, we got sun here, too! Even though it’s the rainiest part of the coast (hence the creative name).

Mayra + Russ brought along two friends and several family members to witness their ceremony, which was the perfect amount of people for this location. Everyone huddled in the forest to watch them exchange vows and it was absolutely magicallll under the canopy.

And then we had to celebrate with some cake, of course – they hired Sift & Gather to create the most gorgeous rust orange & charcoal cake. What more could you want than stuffing cake in your mouth in the middle of the coolest rainforest, with your friends & fam? 😉

Sunset Elopement Photos at Ruby Beach

We couldn’t end the day without hitting up one of my all-time fave spots on the Olympic Peninsula, Ruby Beach. Exploring the rocky beach with that yummy golden sun we got was a dream!

P.S. I love this spot so much that I have a whole-ass article about it for ya – read all about How to Elope at Ruby Beach here!!

A Sweet AF Testimonial from the Couple

Mayra + Russ wrote me the absolute kindest review that I haveee to share – we all deserve to brag a lil’, right??

“Where to begin!?

From the initial conversation to the very end, BreeAnna was amazing to work with. She stayed in constant communication with us throughout the planning of the elopement. We live almost 2,000 miles from where we were going to elope so we put a lot of our trust in her when it came to the planning and vendor recommendations and she did not disappoint!

On the day of, she made sure to keep us on track of the schedule and made us feel at ease when it came to taking our photos.

I was waiting to write this review to see how our photos and videos turned out, and OH MY GOSH—I knew the pics were going to be great, but they exceeded our expectations. So if you’re eloping, I highly encourage you to hire BreeAnna for your photography, you will not regret it!

Thank you again BreeAnna, for capturing our special day. We will cherish these memories forever! Hope to stay in touch!”
