Oregon is the most beautiful place to elope. From their deserts to their beaches to their waterfalls to their mountains, you can’t beat some of the scenery that you can find here!

Okay y’all, you want to elope in Oregon, that’s great!! I’m so psyched for you! SO, first of all, you gotta find the right location for you guys and your needs. So let’s make a checklist. 

NUMBER ONE: Send me an inquiry! 

NUMBER TWO: We chat! We go over all of the details of the locations and I’ll tell you everything you need to know about planning an elopement in Oregon! You’ll pick a location and we’ll make a plan! 

NUMBER THREE: Apply for your marriage license. (You need to do this between 60 and 3 days before your wedding!)

NUMBER FOUR: GET FREAKING MARRIED! We’ll go on the adventure of a lifetime, create some kickass memories, and end up freaking married at the end!

Here is all of my favorite places to elope in Oregon!

Columbia River Gorge

Details

First up, THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE. These amazing landscapes are gorgeous and offer both short AND long hikes so it is easy to find an amazing view at whatever length hike you’re willing to do. There are so many waterfalls and beautiful forests to explore!

Here’s all the ‘tails!

Location – Most of these places are about 1-1.5 hours away from the Portland airport

Timing – The best time to elope in the Columbia River Gorge is March through November! The other months are totally fine to elope in as well, but it will definitely be pretty chilly and I’ve even had some snowy waterfall elopements!

Weather– November – march is likely to be cold/sometimes snow

April-June is likely to be overcast or rainy but there’s always clear days here and there!

July-September – Mostly clear!

Permits – You don’t usually need a pass for any of the places in the Columbia River gorge, but I can give you the specific information for your location when you inquire!

Whatever the weather, I love to shoot in it all! If it rains, you get a moody romantic elopement, if its sunny, we get an amazing sunset! I am fully skilled to work with all weather situations and I am prepared in case the weather changes!

The Mountains

Details

Next up the Mountains! From Mount hood to Saddle Mountain, there are so many amazing places that you can go to find some snow or some views!

Here’s all the ‘tails!

Location – Most of these places are about 2-3 hours away from the Portland airport

Timing – The best time to elope in the mountains depends on whether you want snow or not, if you want snow, november through may are the months for you, if you don’t, stick to the summer months of July-September!

Weather– November – march is likely to be cold/ snow

April-June is likely to be overcast or rainy but there’s always clear days here and there!

Still snow in the mountains!

July-September – Clear and the snow has melted!

Permits – An interagency pass or a northwest forest pass is often required depending on the

location

The Desert

Details

Next up the Desert! From The Painted Hills to Smith Rock State Park, there are so many amazing places that you can go to find some gorgeous landscapes!

Here’s all the ‘tails!

Location – These places can be pretty far from the Portland airport so I would probably suggest maybe flying into Bend Oregon to be closer if you don’t want to drive.

Timing – The best time to elope in the desert is ALL YEAR LONG!

Weather– November – march is likely to be colder and there might be snow

April- June is likely to be fair weather but will be colder than the summer months.

July-October is the best weather of the year, usually clear and fair!

Permits – An interagency pass or a northwest forest pass is often required depending on the

location

There are so many breathtaking locations in the oregon desert, and its definitely a place to stay for a few days or weeks to be able to explore!

The Coast

And lastly, THE OREGON COAST. Oregon’s coast is super unique from other states on the west coast and Cannon Beach and Hug Point are some of the most gorgeous places to watch a sunset.

Location – Most of these places are about 2-2.5 hours away from the Portland airport

Timing – The best time to elope on the coast is ALL YEAR LONG.

Weather– November – march is likely to be colder/windier but I’ve had January days be

completely clear and 70 degrees so….

April-June is likely to be warmer but still not as warm as the summer

July-September – Clear and warm (I mean, for the west coast lol)

Permits – You can usually perchase a daily parking pass at each beach for $5
