This day in the mountains with Ally and Lauran was everything!! And when I say everything, I mean everything—we literally explored every type of PNW landscape you could dream of, all in one day. Mountains, forests, lakes, two different waterfalls. . . they even had the most precious outdoor-themed cake that you def won’t want to miss. Ask me if I’m still dreaming about this amazing LGBTQ elopement at Mount Rainier ten years from now and the answer will still be a hell yes!

Getting ready at the Heartwood Cabin

Where are all my Schitt’s Creek lovers at? You better take notes for your own wedding, because Ally and Lauran had the show up on the TV while they got ready for the day and it was the CUTEST😭 So many precious little moments with the two of them snuggling up on the couch, watching their favorite show together while they waited to get their elopement attire on. This is the best part about eloping by yourselves, you literally get to do whatever you want! Who needs your parents pestering you about staying on time when you could have Moira Rose reciting iconic lines in the background instead?

I loooved that these babes decided to take things slow the morning of their elopement, too. No need to rush to get anywhere, or to set a strict timeline—just the two of them in their cozy A-frame in the woods, cuddling in the adorable loft bedroom and taking advantage of the outdoor hot tub. Lauran wore the most killer olive green suit to embrace the forest atmosphere of Mount Rainier, and Ally wore the prettiest v-neck dress with dainty little flowers in her hair! Effortless hotties (and total pros in front of the camera) 🔥

A moody ceremony beneath the trees

After their first look on the patio of the Airbnb, Ally and Lauran were more than ready to exchange their vows. So we headed to a beautiful spot in the trees, where we could be surrounded by lush greenery and have a totally quiet, intimate space all to ourselves. They said their “I do’s” underneath towering trees covered to the brim in vibrant green moss, and it was a total dream come true—especially with the bright florals featured in Ally’s stunning bouquet + Lauran’s boutonniere. There’s nothing like a good complementary color palette to look brilliant out in the middle of nature, my girl Twisted Bramble always kills it😍

Feel like tying the knot by a picturesque lake instead? An enchanting Reflection Lakes ceremony like this one is pretty hard to beat.

A post-ceremony adventure around Paradise

The plus side of eloping on a rainy day is that you might get a national park all to yourselves, just like Ally and Lauran did at Mount Rainier! We spent the rest of this misty evening exploring the Paradise area, stopping first at Christine Falls because these two cannot stop fallin’ in love. Then we just kept stopping at little spots along trails, taking advantage of ALL the moody goddess that the PNW was serving us with foggy lakeshores, cloudy skies, and deep green trees galore! And I can’t even begin to explain how precious their mushroom cake was, so you’ll just have to see it for yourself below!

We wrapped up the day with a few elopement portraits at Myrtle Falls (in the rain), and then with a different type of rain for a celebratory champagne pop. Oh, and we couldn’t leave without grabbing our lanterns for a few dreamy lantern shots underneath the romantic night sky! You’d never know these last few photos were taken in the middle of a parking lot—glad nobody else was around on this rainy night because their headlights would’ve ruined the shot, lol.

In the words of Patrick from Schitt’s Creek, looks like these two are each other’s Mariah Carey’s, and I’m so glad I was there to capture their big day 😉
