“What if we eloped on the southern Oregon Coast instead of having a big wedding back home?”
That’s exactly what Jade and Jordan asked themselves when they realized they didn’t want the traditional big wedding! Why go ahead with an expensive, time-consuming day that doesn’t actually feel genuine when you could run off to the coast to elope with your friends + fam instead?
Spoiler alert: it was def the BEST decision they could have made for themselves. Elopements are amazing, you never regret getting married in a gorgeous place with just your closest friends by your side—especially when it involves a ceremony overlooking the gorgeous coast of Brookings, OR!

Jade + Jordan’s Gorgeous Coastal Elopement in Brookings, Oregon
A moody fall day on the southern Oregon Coast
Nothing is more Pacific Northwest than spending a day on the coast in the rain, exploring cool caves and scenic overlooks under a gray cloud covering. Jade and Jordan knew they wanted a laid-back but still adventurous day in the fall, which meant they had to be ready to hike + explore no matter the weather. Fortunately they were down to embrace whatever came our way, so we spent the entire day dancing in the rain (literally)!
But how did we get here??
Jade and her boo met 12 years ago through friends, and were always interested in each other—but life got in the way, as it does. They reconnected four years ago and told me they haven’t missed a day talking to each other since! Jordan proposed at home, knowing that she wanted something low-pressure and private. They’d talked about not wanting a big production because it meant more to Jade what Jordan said, not what kind of setup or grand gesture he put together. And it was perfect!
Once they got engaged, discussions started about what the big day would look like, and they knew right off the bat they wanted to get married in private, in the woods, without an ounce of stress or pressure in sight. It was super important to them to be able to enjoy nature and explore the stunning landscapes of the PNW, but they cared more about the vibe than the exact location. Always love couples who are open to different spots because you never know what weather conditions will be like, especially in the late fall and even winter months! All that mattered to Jade and Jordan was that it was a meaningful experience for them to look back on, so they made it happen.
I was sooo happy that they ended up deciding on the southern Oregon Coast as their elopement location, because it’s seriously one of the most breathtaking and scenic parts of the PNW! I would be surprised if you make it to the end of this blog post without considering the coast as a possible location for your own elopement, lol. And if you do, I’ve got a whole Oregon Coast Elopement Guide that you can use to help plan it!

Getting ready at a cozy cabin in the woods
Ugh there’s nothing I love as much as watching a super stoked + in love couple get ready in a rustic cabin in the forest. I’ll never get tired of it. Showing up to document Jade getting her hair and makeup done, Jordan suiting up for the day, and all the beautiful details (jewelry, shoes, florals, the works), was such a blast! Especially because Jade wore the most gorgeousss pearl earrings that looked so magical in front of the camera! I think couples sometimes underestimate the importance of getting ready photos, but honestly it’s one of the most chill, laid-back parts of your day where you get to simply enjoy all the excitement and anticipation. Whether you get ready together, or you get ready separately and then have a first look, take these moments to be present wherever you are and feel alllll the feels!

A rainy ceremony overlooking the ocean
Rain on your wedding day is never a sign of bad luck, I promise! In fact, the rain brings its own special kind of magic; one that makes the atmosphere feel super calm, romantic, and enchanting. Jade and Jordan’s elopement ceremony overlooking the coast + iconic sea stacks was witnessed by just a few of their best friends, with nobody else in sight (except for some seagulls, maybe). The way the ocean breeze blew Jade’s hair ever so gently while Jordan said his vows was magical, and the cloudy skies were suchhh a mood. These two were so cute celebrating with their loved ones once they were officially husband and wife, sharing so many hugs and smiles and laughs!

Romantic blue hour elopement portraits on the beach
How could we end this day with anything other than some dreamy AF portraits on the beach? Jade and Jordan signed their marriage license, said goodbye to their friends and fam, and headed off for their own little sunset adventure. Although we couldn’t really see the sunset—the clouds were in the way, but gave us the prettiest glow over the water. We bopped around the area, stopping at every scenic overlook and cliffside we could find, before making our way down to the water to get a little closer to the tides. Jade threw on her faux fur jacket and the umbrella came out, which made for the cutest pics in the rain! And we had to bring out lanterns once the natural light was gone, of course, for some super dramatic shots of the newlyweds walking along the beach like they were starring in their own version of Twilight.
