Spooky Halloween Elopement on the Oregon Coast

If you love all things spooky season, then you are going to be obsessed with Ellie & Lauren’s Halloween elopement on the Oregon Coast! They eloped on Halloween on a super stormy day (perfect for the spooky vibes) just the two of them, and put together the most incredible Halloween-themed day. From their dark & moody florals to their coffin-shaped ring box (it was to die for. . . get it?) to the pumpkins they set up everywhere, this Halloween elopement was AMAZING!

Ellie + Lauren’s Halloween Elopement on the Oregon Coast

A spooky + stormy day on the coast

We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather to go with this spooky Halloween elopement – it was stormy ALL day, but it actually barely rained! Ellie and Lauren got alllll the dark and moody vibes without getting drenched in their dresses. They got ready separately as it drizzled outside, and I went around and snapped pics of all the amazing decor around the house (I included a whole separate section dedicated to photos of the decor because it’s too much to fit in this one!). I loooved that they stuck to their own individual styles with their outfits and didn’t feel like they needed to match – Lauren picked a gorgeous white dress with tons of pretty tulle, and Ellie opted for an edgier look with a long-sleeve black corset bodysuit & a fluffy black skirt. I’m obsessed with the black dresses brides have been wearing lately, check out the epic one that Sara wore for her & Dan’s Winchester Mountain elopement!

Before we left the house to head to the beach, Lauren and Ellie did their first look in the living room. It was so damn cute and of course they had to take some bits of their magical Halloween-inspired cake on the way out!

A private elopement ceremony at Hug Point

Ellie and Lauren exchanged their vows at Hug Point, in a super cool cave that matched the spooky vibes of this elopement so perfectly. Their ceremony was just them with no guests around, which made it an extra special and intimate moment for the two of them to remember forever. They didn’t have any sort of floral arch or arbors, they just laid their bouquets on the sand in front of them and those added a simple, beautiful pop of color to the cave setting!

If you’ve never been to Hug Point, you’re missin’ out! It’s a super beautiful beach just a few miles from Cannon Beach with cool caves, lush forested areas, gorgeous cliffsides, and even a waterfall! Hug Point is an amazing spot for elopements because it’s usually less crowded than Cannon Beach and has more secluded areas you can explore. Just make sure you visit when the tide is low, otherwise you won’t be able to get around to the second part of the beach that has the waterfall – Lauren ended up practically swimming when she got swept away by the waves as we were taking portraits, haha!

Romantic Oregon Coast elopement portraits

Speaking of portraits, we took TONS of course. I had them snuggle up on some big rocks, walk up to the top of the waterfall, and get cozy in a couple of the caves for some super moody shots. They literally looked like they belonged on a movie poster! Once we’d gotten enough pics at Hug Point we headed to another one of my fave spots on the Oregon Coast, Elk Flats. This is a trail that literally makes you look like you’re in Iceland, not the PNW – the views are insane and the fog above the ocean made it even more breathtaking that day. I was glad Lauren didn’t mind getting her dress dirty because it definitely ended up looking like it had an intentional black gradient on the bottom from all the mud!

Halloween Elopement Decor Ideas + Inspiration

Now let’s take a closer look at all the incredible Halloween elopement decor + details that Lauren and Ellie put together because my jaw was on the FLOOR when I walked in and saw it all. They seriously went all-out and incorporated spooky vibes into every part of their setup, from the cake that looked like it had blood dripping down the edges to the pumpkins covering the table! Idk about you but it sure made me want to have my own Halloween elopement – here is ALL the inspo you could ever dream of if you want to elope on Halloween too!

Halloween-themed elopement cake

Sift & Gather created the most AMAZING Halloween cake for Lauren and Ellie. Not only was the cake decorated with roses, eucalyptus, and other jewel-toned foliage – it was covered in burgundy icing that resembled blood dripping down the edges, all the way down to the mound of blackberries on the plate. It looked sooo deliciously spooky!

Halloween elopement florals

For their florals, Lauren and Ellie hired Natalie Parks Floral & Design to put together a bouquet for each of them. Lauren had the dreamiest bouquet filled to the brim with shades of burgundy & plum pale pinks, whites, and tons of greenery. It was SO beautiful held next to her white dress – the contrasting tones were 10/10! And same with Ellie, who held a bouquet of lighter pinks & whites against her all-black dress. Natalie killed it with the floral choices and how simple yet sooo elegant she kept it!

Halloween elopement decor + accessories

I am STILL not over the fact that Lauren and Ellie literally had a coffin-shaped box for their rings! It was the coolest black wooden box with red velvet inside, and spots for all of their engagement & wedding bands. They held it during their ceremony when it was time to put each other’s rings on and it was so unique & amazingly Halloween-y! They also had a palm reading hand statue on the table to hold some jewelry, as well as a cool golden snake piece that I draped some necklaces across for photos. And there were sooo many pumpkins of a variety of shapes + colors + sizes all over the table that brought out all the Halloween goodness!

Halloween elopement dresses

I probably don’t need to say it again, so I’ll just show you more photos of the black & white dresses these two picked out for their Halloween elopement! LOVE the idea of picking contrasting outfits, especially black for Halloween of course.

Halloween-inspired elopement nails

Lastly, look at how cute Ellie’s Halloween nails were!

P.S. shoutout to Anne Timms for doing an amazing job with Lauren and Ellie’s hair & makeup!

Hope you loved all the Halloween elopement inspo from this day 🙂 Who else is ready to elope on Halloween (and have me tag along)?!
