Dreamy Hoh Rain Forest Elopement | Marina + Jack

Clearly I can’t get enough of Olympic National Park because I’m back with another ONP elopement for ya!! Marina + Jack had the dreamiest Hoh Rain Forest elopement a while back that I’m finally sharing, and if you love moody rainforests + golden sunsets on the beach then you are going to looove these pics. It may have been hella rainy and a classic moody PNW day on the peninsula, but Ruby Beach showed OFF at sunset and so did this bride & groom 😉

Marina + Jack’s Hoh Rain Forest Elopement

A New Year’s proposal at home

You know I love a good proposal story (hence why I proposed to my now fiancé in the middle of the mountains in Italy) – so let’s start with how these cuties got engaged. They actually met in high school, Marina was from a town close to Jack and they had mutual friends. Apparently he lived in fear of her in high school, but they reconnected later on aaand the rest is history. They’ve been together for the past 8 years now! Jack proposed to her on New Year’s day with flowers on the couch at home, which I thought was such a cute & simple way to do it. Who doesn’t want to be ambushed with flowers and proposed to at the home they share with the love of their life?!

Marina + Jack’s goal with their wedding was to have an intimate ceremony in a beautiful place that’s laid-back and stress free, with just their two best friends as witnesses. And you bet they made it happen!

An intimate elopement ceremony in the Hoh Rain Forest

They chose Olympic National Park for their summer elopement, specifically the Hoh Rain Forest & Ruby Beach, which are two of the most iconic and beautiful spots in the park. Marina wore a stunning off-the-shoulder gown with lace sleeves, a corset top, and a gorge trumpet silhouette. I loved how minimal yet still elegant she kept it with just a small pair of pearl earrings & a long veil that draped down to the train of her dress!! Jack kept it classic, too, with a black tux, a small boutonniere, and a champagne-colored tie. Neutral + earthy tones were the perf way to go in this lush green rainforest🔥

They saw each other for the first time when Marina walked down the aisle (which was just a dirt trail in the forest haha) and they exchanged their vows under the dreamy canopy. The Hoh Rain Forest is seriously such a freaking magical place for an elopement thanks to the moss-covered tree trunks, the bright green ferns, and the moody PNW vibes that embody the entire area!! I loved that Marina and Jack only invited a few of their closest friends so that everybody could fit in this small spot next to the trail – the Hall of Mosses is a great trail that takes you through the forest on a paved, accessible path!!

And of course, we had to take literally hundreds of pictures of these two in this magical rainforest, so here are some of my favorites for your viewing pleasure😍

Sunset elopement portraits at Ruby Beach

After makin’ things official and taking a TON of portraits beneath the trees, we made our way to Ruby Beach for a second set of epic portraits of the newlyweds. I love LOVE Ruby Beach because literally no matter what the weather is, it looks absolutely gorgeous: rain or shine, foggy or clear, overcast or golden hour. I meannn just look at these two babes standing in front of the dramatic sea stack – power couple vibes for sureee, despite the literal storm clouds surrounding them. It was so gloomy and dark, but somehow we still got a brief golden hour as the sun went down – and even a hint of blue sky for a minute!! Nothing beats the reflections on the beach as the waves roll in on Ruby Beach at sunset☀️

This intimate Hoh Rain Forest + Ruby Beach elopement was epic from start to finish. I’m glad these babes were ready for any kind of weather because they truly embraced it all!!
