I met up with Aeriel and John in the evening and we began the hike to Snoqualmie falls. Even though I’ve been to Snoqualmie falls MANY times and have shot there a BUNCH, I’d never been to this side of the falls before! Neither had John or Aeriel so this was an adventure for everyone! Even though the woods were sort of creepy (and the fact that I had just watched a horror film the night before didn’t help) we had fun on the short walk down to the falls. Well shortish. It took like 40 minutes haha. We made the time go by faster by discussing the largest unsolved bank robbery to ever happen Washington because the rumor is that the robber escaped into these very woods. Yes, I kept my eye out for any black duffel bags that might be hidden somewhere in the forest.
When we got to the clearing, the falls were TOWERING above us. The iconic double falls that is a familiar sight to any Twin Peaks watchers, are huge and its so easy to see why its such a popular tourist attraction. Luckily, no one knows about this hike on the other side of the waterfall and we were ALL ALONE. We could see a crowd of tourists on the other side of the falls staring at us from their fenced boardwalk, but we were hundreds of feet away from them on the other side of the giant river, and we couldn’t hear them at all.
Aeriel and John must be part mountain goat because they clamored up the rocks so easily (and scared me to death!). We explored all over the riverside and took in the views of the waterfalls. Its a little damp the closer that you get to the waterfall and by the time we got closer, the rocks were pretty slippery. Aeriel and John didn’t even seem to notice, and still bravely climbed all over those slippery rocks!
These guys met way back in high school, but they weren’t really friends or knew each other. Well, Aeriel didn’t know John, he knew her and had a huge crush on her! But assumed that she would never be interested in him. They met again years later and finally hit it off! He slid into her dm’s and they began to chat after seeing each other at a mutual friends get-together. They’ve been together ever since!
